This Picture is Worth $1000

By Austin • Aug 14th, 2008 • Category: Personal Photos

Any photograph is potentially worth 1000 words, but this photo happens to be worth $1000.

That is my beautiful wife and our 6 week old daughter Aliyah on the left, and a thousand bucks on the right.

We just bought a lens and this is this the only photo we’ve got from it so far. The lens put us back a grand, therefore this photo cost us a grand! Get it?

Is this flawed logic or am I making sense? A few years back, we bought a brand new 100mm Macro and it was stolen after a few weeks. I figured it cost me about $5 for each photo we took with it once I factored in the price of the lens. There is my college education in action right there!

That was a sad story to leave you off with, so here’s a happy one:

If you can guess which lens we got by looking at the picture taken above, we’ll buy you an iPhone:

Just kidding - we spent all our dough on that one photo.

I know, I know! I want an iphone too!

Oh by the way, we are currently in Montana for a wedding - good times! Photos are on the way.

  1. 24 1.4? iPhone please?

  2. 16-35 ;-)

    You didn’t get a 24 1.4 did you?

  3. 24 1.4 was correct
It came in handy during this last wedding we shot - I can’t wait to up the photos when we get back!

UPDATE: We will be selling this lens even though we LOVE it because we need to pay off a few bills. If anyone is interested, it’s in perfect shape! We’ll definitely be re-buying it in the future though.
