My brother Garret and his girlfriend Janet drove up to Santa Barbara a few weeks ago to see family but I stole them away to shoot some portraits instead.
It is moments like these that Austin & I get really excited about the birth of our daughter. This family was so much fun to hang out with, and we’re very happy about how these photos turned out!
As a father’s day gift, Ken and his sister Kristina thought it would be cool to give the gift of photography. The three of us went out to one of the many local SB parks for about an hour before the sun went down.
What a fun portrait session! We grabbed a bikini, a hoodie, and a camera and headed off for Leadbetter in Santa Barbara. We ended up with some beautiful lifestyle portraits!

Actually, this wasn’t an official portrait session. More like a “Hey man! Long time no see, can I take a picture of your gnarly beard?” This guys hair was out of control. Anthony is a cool guy - very mellow and laid back as you can probably tell.

The title is ‘Fun Portraits of Ken’ for only one reason. Actually, okay, two reasons: Ken is a cool guy to hang out with, and I got to ride on a giant swing! With one hand holding on and the other shooting, I guess you could say my life was in the balance. Good times!
