Hi Friends,

This is usually the part where we act all professional and list all of our prestigious awards and accomplishments as photographers, but after doing some business-soul seeking, we’ve come to the conclusion that we want to make friends through photography - not clients!

Friends take the best photos - isn’t that right?  It’s as if the relationship between the subject and the photographer comes through the camera and sticks to the pictures.

No wait, I take that back - Professional Friends take the best photos! Yeah!

Our Story goes a little something like this:

Once upon a time, a boy and a girl met each other at a friend’s birthday bonfire at Hendry’s Beach.
They talked about their beliefs, hopes and dreams and fell in love before the night was over!

Dara, a Brooks graduate, was passionate about surf photography, and had plans of going back to Australia to pursue her photo career.

Austin, a SOMA graduate, and UCSB student thought he might just remain a college student forever while pursuing his career as a freelance web/graphic designer.

However, they soon realized that their plans were about to change. They were asked to shoot a few weddings, and it didn’t take long to discover that they really worked well together.

One day, Austin & Dara watched the sun come up over Santa Barbara,  and Austin asked Dara to be his wife.

Well of course, Dara had to say yes, and 4 months later, they were married!

While finishing up his degree at UCSB, Austin taught kids martial arts and continued to do photo sessions with Dara on the weekends.

Dara worked as a server and later as a marketing rep, but she kept her focus mainly on their photo business.

The end. Or actually, the begining!

As a husband and wife team - nothing could stop these two!  They are on an adventure, which right now consists of living and working in Santa Barbara.

Here is Dara shooting at 1 month pregnant, then at 9 months pregnant!  What a trooper huh?

Yes, that means that we have a kid now - woohoo!  Aliyah was born July 2nd, 2008, and she is the most beautiful thing ever!
